SANUS

Circuito as Architects

Some time ago, the establishment of the rehabilitation center in a building that had been designed as a country house, forced the re-adaptation of the spaces and a new programming of the existing ones. Today, with a public average and a more stable growth rate, the needs grow and as long as the same built square meters continue, more patients cannot be cared for.

That is why, taking advantage of Sanus' status as an NGO, Circuito offered to donate the architectural project. Sometimes non-profit organizations are stagnant due to lack of resources, without which it is not possible to apply to apply for them, hence the starting point is to make a preliminary project to materialize the needs that the rehabilitation center presents today. and land a number as a need.
Thus, the expansion master plan contemplates the most essential needs as first stages. The project is built in two volumes, one that will house the kitchen and public space and the second that will contain the clinical areas together with the reception.

The kitchen has currently reached a limit in terms of space and equipment, the location within the bedroom space, today inefficient the operational movements of the spaces. For this reason, we migrated the kitchen, dining room and bathrooms to an outdoor space, allowing a much more public use and quick access to input and output of supplies. The dining room supply space will make the site a friendly meeting point for patient visitors. Integrated into the gardens, it expands the sensation and allows for mixed events.

The new space for reception will function as an excuse to filter income with greater security, in the same way a waiting area overlooking the gardens offers views of patient activities. In this same volume and with the intention of expanding services to more people, the offices are easily set up for outpatients, maintaining the privacy of inpatients' lives.
The construction system is designed so that through prefabricated elements, patients can assemble the pieces and build their own spaces, likewise this will allow the growth of the clinic to take place in stages according to the donations that it manages to acquire.
