In the dense urban dwelling of Dhaka city relation between nature and built environment is crucial. The design paints green nature on a rigid urban canvas.

Basic design strategy of the project is manipulated by casually placed green balcony at the front, where each unit could enjoy their own green corner as breathing space. Three dimensional array of veranda at alternative altitude creates pixaleted expression on façade, which has been unified by inserting a rectangular outer frame. Interestingly, due to dislocations of balconies multiple height overhead space has been achieved at the green areas and become means of socialization among the floors.

In this 10-storied apartment there are two living units at each level while ground level serves for parking & public access to the building. Vertical core and fire exit is placed at the rare side to maximize front exposure at south. This allow summer breeze and winter sun at regular habitable areas of the living quarters. Color of plastered surface and tiles work are maintained in favor of lower thermal gain.

The project experiments with materiality. Departing from regular combination of traditional brick, industry made rough tiles and painted surfaces created new tune with green plants.
