Inspired by the dialogue between historical architecture and a contemporary approach, Beatriz Quinelato presents, in her fourth participation at CASACOR São Paulo, the environment “Sopro”. Covering 45m², the project occupies part of building from the 1930s and proposes new ways of living that honor the memory of the place while also pointing toward the future. The name of the environment refers to the idea of lightness, pause, and renewal. The project is part of the 38th edition of the exhibition, which takes place from May 27 to August 3, 2025, at Parque da Água Branca.
Developed within the exhibition’s theme for this year, “Sowing Dreams,” the project offers a new perspective on living, with the central idea of slowing down the mind, providing a pause — a breath. This vision is reflected in the choice of materials, the color palette, and the way the space was designed with both functionality and comfort in mind.
One of the starting points is the original parquet flooring, carefully restored to preserve the memory of the building. Wood also features in the ceiling, crafted in Tauari Cerrado Mate and supplied by Akafloor, creating a connection between the finishes. The ceiling, with its checkered weave, stands out for adding texture and subtly evoking the home’s original architecture.
Encompassing the living room, bedroom, and library within a single fluid space, the custom-made cabinetry organizes the reading area with shelves, open niches, and defined volumes that accommodate books, objects, and artworks. The fireplace, crafted from raw stone, helps warm the space and reinforces the cozy atmosphere.
Among the furniture highlights is the Lina armchair, a tribute to architect Lina Bo Bardi, designed by Suíte Design for Lider Interiores. The sculpture "Seres," by designer André Ferri, also stands out: measuring 1.3 meters tall, the piece combines wood and ceramics in a composition that fascinates and transcends the boundaries of creativity.
The bathroom is hidden behind an organic wall and maintains the language of the space. The raw stones applied to the shower and countertop create a direct connection with nature.
The color palette in shades of off-white, brown, cream, and green brings the environment closer to nature. Large windows offer views of the trees and the park’s lake, creating a seamless connection between the interior and exterior spaces. Cherry-tone wooden blinds by Amorim Cortinas provide elegance and functionality, controlling light and ensuring privacy with style. Soft-textured curtains and rugs contribute to thermal, visual, and acoustic comfort, in line with the established theme of pause and care. A carefully curated selection of designer furniture and artworks completes the project, reinforcing the proposal of an elegant and welcoming environment.
