Sport Complex and football field in Viladecans

Brullet - de Luna Arquitectes as Architects

Placed in Torre Roja’s park, the new sport complex includes: the substitution of an existent covered swimming pool and an area of artificial “beaches” for a new multifunctional sports center, and the reform of a nearer football field that incorporates a little services building. .

The situation of these new buildings permits to establish a privileged relation with Torre Roja’s park creating a new attraction node that, at the same time, it is integrated in the future city’s urban expansion.

The sports center opens to its surroundings transforming an architectural type traditionally closed in itself, in a permeable building integrated in the park, and it includes: an extension of the existent swimming pool, a new exterior swimming pool and a new sport pavilion connected with the cover swimming pool.

The reform of the football field incorporates a little building with a bar, a service area, and changing rooms. This little construction is placed on a topographic step with the aim of minimizing its presence. The project is ruled by the powerful presence of the mountain on the north side and the attention that must be paid to the sporting activity situated in the south. This duality is resolved by a roof of asymmetric section that opens the building to views of the mountain and projects the view towards the football pitch by means of compressing the section that ends in a large porch.

Some of the energetic strategies used for generating and adequate ambient are abundance of natural light, creation of intermediate spaces, or solar radiation control with brie-solei. The combination of zinc, deployeé and concrete make up the exterior image of the building.
