Toronto offices of Stereo D, a high-tech media giant that renders 3D content for top-grossing feature films, most recently including War for Planet of the Apes and Spiderman: Homecoming. In designing these offices, Quadrangle created a cool and comfortable work environment for up to 450 employees who have to work in almost complete darkness.
Expanding on its base in California and India, Stereo D chose to expand to Toronto’s Liberty Village neighbourhood, tapping into the city’s highly-skilled digital artist talent pool. The offices are located in the former Canada Bread Factory, a heritage building from the early 1900s that required the technical knowledge to convert the 45,000 s.f. industrial space into a high-tech workplace complete with a state-of-the-art, 30-seat screening room.
In an era of office slides, foosball tables and heavily branded work environments, Stereo D is, in contrast, an understated, comfortable and deliberately designed office. Easily reconfigured work areas, ergonomic personal workstations, and multiple light-filled breakout areas give employees exactly what they need - daily quality of life at work.
