The small town of Laudes is situated at the end of the Val Venosta to the entrance of the Val Monastero, not far from the city of Glorenza by the municipality of Malles and the state border in the province of Bolzano.
The first clusters inhabited by peasants in the village of Laudes back to 14. century. The building, as we see it, dates back to 1582. The basement, following several discoveries of new walls and new openings in exterior facades, should be considered before that date.
The building has undergone during these years various interventions during different historical periods. You can give different interpretations of speeches from baroque phase in which the south facade was added to a "Erker" and performed some remedial facades using a coarse plaster, going to classicism, where there was a reorganization of the stairs in the foreground such as access to the basement floor. At the same time the south parlor is enlarged with an impact on the facades. Several windows are bricked up and open new ones.
At the beginning of 1900 are replaced windows and doors. On the south facade is built a balcony and garden even the window is maximized. Other minor maintenance were carried out in subsequent years, reaching the last full operational restructuring and reorganization.
The project plans to return to its original state with consequent restoration of openings in facades and demolition of elements added later to restore the rooms the same materials used in years.
The two parlors, one located on the ground floor the second on the first floor, have improved materials and keeping all the original features. All doors have been restored while the fixtures were replaced. The attic was converted into a room, the roof restored and insulated. All main rooms have been preserved, sometimes in the corridors was given a dominant importance through adequate lighting. The intervention aimed at the restoration of the materials and not the replacement of the same. The artistic project of the corridors was made in collaboration with Esther Stocker. The project had financial support from the division of Cultural Heritage of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano, Office of architectural and artistic heritage.
