Gastenhuis Le Sud on the Groene Loper in Maastricht is a care concept featuring small-scale living for people with dementia, comprising 41 care units.

With large living rooms on the ground floor and terraces overlooking the Groene Loper, we have created a beautiful living environment for future residents.

In the Le Sud section of the plan on the south side of the Groene Loper, this building forms the head of a series of residential buildings. The end facade, featuring profiled brickwork inspired by Kay Fisker, also marks the beginning of the green carpet here, serving as a counterpart to the large residential tower in this series. The building derives its expression from the volumetric manipulations and the interplay with the massive stair tower next to the solid end.

Through the application of a sustainable design and installations such as heat pumps and solar panels, a full commitment is made to sustainability. As a result, this building becomes nearly energy-neutral. This is part of broader sustainability measures along the Groene Loper, with a focus on biodiversity, heat stress, and water buffering.
