A logistical, service and transportation hub for the biggest heavy load trucking company in Israel, the project is located alongside an expressway intersection and at the edge of a new industrial zone. The design set out to create a sense of identity and place in a new industrial zone and to restore the street in a dispersed urban fabric. Setback from the street the vaulted roof is a response to a narrow street section. Light wells were introduced to create a rhythmic scale towards the street, with trees offering shade and ivy softening the architectural concrete and metal panels.
The light wells enable north light and natural ventilation, while the south overhang shades the interior work spaces. TAAVURA logo letters were intended to wrap around the central building and serve as structure and focal point of reference from the expressway.
