" Tacto Sereno " is the project created by Patricia Bustos Studio for the Bathco space in Casa Decor 2022.
" Tacto Sereno " proposes a new concept of hotel reception. For the first time Bathco takes the sink out of the bathroom to open it to public spaces in which the beauty and functionality of this piece has the same meaning and allows us to use our most primal sense, touch.
It is a tribute to craftsmanship to enhance our senses. In a world where we want to recover the embrace and physical contact, the washbasin becomes a sort of spring that returns us to the space ready to use our most primal and fundamental sense, the first one we develop at birth, the one that produces more pleasure, the TACTO. Space has a strong inspiration in Gaudi or Eladio Dieste who said that the architect is "the synthetic man, who sees things clearly as a whole before they are realized, who places and links the elements in their plastic relationship and at the right distance, as well as the static quality and polychrome sense". Gaudi understood architecture as an integrating, symbolic and total art. He sought light and color, and in his buildings there is room for all the arts. Eladio Dieste with his reinforced ceramic constructions and his undulating brick structures.
In the space one of the purposes is to feel, in an era where everything is over intellectualized, is presented as a way to experience and explore what was always there, but for some reason we stopped honoring. Throughout all these years, craftsmanship has brought our body, through senses such as sight and touch, closer to experiences of beauty, respect and care. Now we flee to parallel universes without being aware of the loss of the corporeal and the impact it has on our lives, leading us to imaginary copied, soulless, meaningless.
We use natural materials in trend, materials worked by the hands of artisans such as rattan, marble, Bathco ceramics, or bricks. We also make use of organic shapes in the space, with curved furniture, walls and coverings.
Hand in hand with Bathco's delicate Atelier, where each piece is unique and handmade, we want to celebrate the imperfection of the artisan process, its affection, its nuances, its character and identity. Making each product, each project, each ritual unique and original, like the human being who conceived it.
Celebrating the human, celebrating love, celebrating the fantasy that has helped you to project something better.
Materials used:
Facade cladding: Maora brick walls and blue satin paint. We finished the ceiling with a border of Hisbalit paintings.
Flooring: 2 types of Portuguese marble, yellow macael marble and blue onyx
Roofing: Pink Satin paint
Interior lighting: Ignition materials of Gira
