Technology Experience Showroom for Caterpillar Málaga

FILBAK space branding as Designers & Project Managers

The Technology Experience houses their most advanced technology, creating an impressive "wow" effect that surprises visitors. It serves as a training and demonstration area, featuring simulators that allow users to operate machinery without being physically present, as well as remote controls to operate real machines in real time.

As interior designers, the goal was to create an environment that matches this level of innovation and allows for maximum flexibility to accommodate constant evolutions and changes.

A technology room where the experience starts outdoors

Caterpillar Málaga has extensive facilities near the Andalusian Technology Park, and the space branding accompanies visitors from the moment they enter the premises.

The user experience and the brand universe are fundamental premises in the design of their facilities, which includes office design, interior design of training rooms, restaurant design, corporate toilets, and ephemeral office architecture, among others.

The Technology Experience room is located beneath the grandstand of the Training and Demonstration Center

The user experience begins even before entering the space, as visitors can already sense that something extraordinary is happening.

The entrance framing the technology room takes center stage, with Play in Colors contributing by adding vibrant colors to the floor and walls, creating an explosion of geometries and colors that immerse visitors in the technological interior design.

Technological interior design

The original space was compartmentalized into several training rooms, but the aim was to unify everything into a single open space, showcasing the powerful structure of the grandstand.

The objective was to create a neutral container with few elements, yet powerful enough to achieve a distinctive result.

To achieve this, a space was designed to provide a futuristic and technological ambiance upon entering. Wireframe prisms were created, accentuated by linear lighting along their edges. These prisms, arranged in series, enhance the spatial depth and frame the distribution of the simulators.

Moreover, the space is flexible and multiporpose, capable of adapting to the technological changes required by the industry.

The leading factor

Light is often referred to as the fourth dimension of architecture, and it was the primary tool used to create the sought-after "WOW" effect.

Visitors are first welcomed into a closed anteroom with a curtain, creating a theatrical space with a neutral monochromatic design that acts as a filter between the outside world and the upcoming spectacle. Here, the group is introduced to the show that awaits them.

The curtain then opens, revealing an explosion of color. Blacklight activates, showcasing corporate graffiti, a disruptive intervention that displays the brand's "grunge" side.

Then the graffiti disappears, giving way to the real protagonist: Caterpillar's cutting-edge technology. Light boxes illuminate their edges to frame simulators and remote control machines, among other technological advances. These, in turn, have an accent light above them to become the "jewels" of the technology room.

The result is futuristic and grunge space branding that aims to combine technology and development with the brand's industry.
