Temporary Museum for new Design

Temporary Museum for new Design

Meaningful contaminations among art and design, innovation and tradition, nature and technology, big names and up-and-coming talents of the design world, besides interesting new trends never seen anywhere else. The Temporary Museum for New Design in three years has gained credit and structure, within Superstudio Più, the exclusive exhibition center of the international design built as a museum to display the best projects by very important or meaningful names, following the concept “less fair, more museum.” Superstudio Group, in its two own big locations, stands effectively as Milan’s most important private cultural and exhibition center for design and proves once again to be the hottest place, the not-to-be-missed destination, a professional oasis where culture meets business, attracting qualified visitors thanks to the admission reserved only to professional operators, with the only exception of Sunday when it is open to the public upon registration.

Gisella Borioli’s project with Giulio Cappellini’s art direction is based on elements that make the difference such as quality, research, internationality, innovation and avant-garde. Superstudio Più’s iconic white buildings are divided into “galleries”, even wider this year, designed as many “exhibitions” and separate site specific installations, with significant experiential exhibition layouts. 10 000 square meters and over 30 brands featuring the best of the research on the international field, with renowned names such as Canon, Samsung Electronics, Alcantara, Diesel Home Collection, Foscarini, engaged in museum-like installations marked by great appeal; internationally renowned architects and designers such as Paola Navone, Koichi Suzuno and Shinya Kamuro (Torafu), Michele De Lucchi, Karim Rashid, Alessandro Mendini, Patricia Urquiola, Xavier Lust, Vicente Garcia Jimenez, Simone Micheli, Philippe Nigro, Alessandro Dubini, Denis Santachiara, Stefano Pirovano, Michael Koenig, the media art duo “Mioon”; the participation of several nationalities among which Sweden, Finland, Holland, Canada, Japan, Korea, Israel, Poland, Germany, often backed by the relative government agencies.

The Temporary Museum is an event eagerly awaited all around the world, covered by many international newspapers and magazines and taken as an example of an innovative and valuable initiative, the first stage of every visit in the Tortona area. The public, made up of professional and non professional people, will be welcomed in a very beautiful space featuring exclusive services, such as the garden offering a green and relaxing area, lounges, relax corners, book-shop Taschen, the special project King’s Design House on the Roof (invitation only, by Prosciutteria King’s), press-office and info-point, the Dada café restaurant, the Sake bar.
