TEPLO Restaurant

YOD Group as Architects

TEPLO restaurant (translated from English as “warmth”) is located in a residential complex in Kyiv, Ukraine. The concept of the restaurant can be explained as a home cafe, a cozy urban place for residents of the house and its neighborhood. The designers’ main task was to create an attractive and comfortable restaurant for family and friends gatherings.

Rational space zoning of this two storied space helped to manage the different types of visitors: families with children, couples, big companies or those who come for business meetings. On the first floor there are a confectionery and a detached play area for children. On the second floor there is a restaurant with different dining areas and a bar. There are also different sitting places for family dinners or a business lunch.

The spectacular visual accent is an installation on the ceiling of the 2-nd floor. It is a huge sculptural panel made from the numerous wooden handles. For implementing this idea designers used their favorite technique: creation of a big volume using the same material. With the light passing through this panel the room becomes even more comfortable and warmer.

*TEPLO in Russian means “warmth”.
