The Arcade is an apartment located in the city centre of Bucharest, Romania, with a total are of 80 sqm. It contains an open-space living and a dining space, a closed kitchen, two bedrooms and two bathrooms.
The open-space area is airy, made in a simple and bright color scheme, with thin black metallic elements for the accent. The sofa, located in front of the window, is a perfect place for friendly meetings or simply a place to relax while reading a book or watching a good movie. The pink armchair comes perfectly in order to complete de furniture set-up and it is a chromatic element of impact.
The dining area is the one that stands out the most and it is also the main element in the design process. The arch behind the table is made with wall paint and surrounded by a black metallic profile – „a must“ for the neo-memphis style. The upholstered velvet chairs add an extra color and freshness touch and the suspended lamp, with its simple design, matches perfectly the table legs.
The storage spaces are made of open shelves, which offer a sensation of breath to the entire apartment.
The Two Bedrooms
The first bedroom is the master bedroom. It has a double bed, with an upholstered headboard, raised on wooden legs. The color pallete used is made of shades of grey and the accents come from decorations objects such as pillows, paintings and plants.
For the curtains we used a simple model, which combines two colors and it can be found throughout the apartment. As in the open-space area, also in this bedroom the chosen lamps are black and thin.
The second bedrooms is used as a guest room. Here we proposed a simple sofa bed and a few storage units that make a good work from home space. The chosen textures and materials are plain and simple, and the door knobs, toghether with the plinth, give us the contrast we want.
