This season, experience the vibrant tapestry of a vacation in Goa, where sun-kissed beaches, refreshing dips in the sea, and lazy afternoons under swaying palm trees await. While you plan your holiday to embrace the carefree spirit of coastal life and savour tropical fruits by the shore, Sangrah – a Goa-based Interior Design Studio reveals its recently completed homestay project, called The Goan Glee. Adding to the idyllic experience of Susegad way of life, Shreeya - founder of Sangrah, designed a 1200 sq ft holiday home to complement Goa's natural beauty. Perfectly planned for two, this 1BHK is a vibrant blend of contemporary design and tropical charm, set to enchant tourists and guests alike.
With a deliberate focus on maintaining a clean layout, simple furniture, and a fun colour palette, the apartment exudes a lively and welcoming atmosphere from the moment you enter. Nestled in the prime tourist hotspot of Arpora, its interiors draw inspiration from the botanical beauty of Goan forests. Backdropped by the lush palm trees, it was only natural to infuse this spirit into the interiors. This connection to nature is seamlessly integrated into the home’s contemporary design language, creating a harmonious blend of indoor and outdoor beauty.
Upon entering the apartment, guests are greeted by the living area, where a striking olive green fluted panelling immediately catches the eye. This feature wall, paired with a blush pink velvet sofa and undertones of grey, sets a soothing yet vibrant tone for the home. The glass-topped dining table and wooden burst pattern chest of drawers add to the spacious and airy feel, while the cane wall lights provide a textured lighting effect that enhances the overall ambience.
The kitchen is both functional and aesthetically pleasing, featuring lower cabinets in a green hue that matches the backsplash tiles. A splash of lilac ties the kitchen to the living area, creating a cohesive look throughout the space. The TV wall, designed with a beige-brown solid paint and textured wallpaper, offers a minimalistic yet elegant solution, enhancing the living room’s aesthetic without overwhelming it. In the bedroom, a tropical wallpaper sets a serene backdrop for the bed, while the lilac wardrobe with cane mesh continues the theme of natural textures. The dresser, with its half moon-shaped mirror, doubles as a study area, adding to the room’s functionality and charm.
"My efforts were deliberate; this project stands as my homage to the city's blend of contemporary sophistication and tropical allure," remarks Shreeya Singh. Emphasising simplicity and strategic additions to enhance drama, her design philosophy shines through. It authentically represents her unique style, seamlessly merging modern design elements with the vibrant inspirations of the tropics. The collaborative design process marks the final space to stand as a testament to Shreeya Singh’s dedication and creativity, providing a delightful retreat for visitors to Goa.
