A concept project for a destination restaurant-café in Hampstead Heath

The project was designed and conceived by Studio Tashima in collaboration with LocaDeli Ltd. It was presented to Hampstead Heath Superintendent’s Office with the ambition for a destination restaurant-café at the Parliament Hill Triangle.

The design is located within the north side of a Grade-II listed, 1930s open-brick structure. Conceived to enhance and heighten the experience of bathing and the landscape, the space has two sides that change in time and experience.

By day, one side of the restaurant-café is designed to serve ice-creams, sandwiches, pizzas and drinks to bathers. At the same time, the other side serves pizza, pasta and take-away picnic hampers to those exploring the Heath. At night, it becomes a destination restaurant with unique views of the swimming pool’s deep blue water on one side, and the blanket of darkness that is the Heath on the other.
