The project is mainly inspired by and refers to the traditional Magellanic estancias of Chile that have historically been linked to cattle ranching. It is under this concept that it was decided to adopt the typology of the Patagonian warehouse as a distinctive identity for the municipality.

This vision to define the typology seeks not only to honor the rich cultural heritage of the region, but also to offer an innovative perspective that fuses tradition with modernity in an attractive and distinctive architectural design.

The "T"-shaped shed (inspired by the Magellanic instances), allows the volume to be distributed programmatically in its different warehouses, ordering the production processes and linking with the environment.

It is for this reason and based on the historical distribution, that it is sought to associate this programmatic distribution, proposing it for the future administrative enclosures of the consistorial building, also facing them towards the Civic Square and thus responding to its public and emblematic identity (bringing the user closer to the new institutional building of the area).

Thus, a volume is proposed that alludes to the traditional Magellanic shed to face the civic square, making it an extension of it, to then rotate it and create a space of public character and sheltered from the prevailing wind of the West. In this way, and after having addressed the identity features of the area, the building adapts to the environmental and technical needs that are required to address both climatic issues (graphed on the slopes of the roof and a plinth due to snowfall), as well as programmatic and lighting issues (always looking for the best relationship in terms of lighting and climate control).

As an access, a break is generated between the two main wings so that the building welcomes users and with it, activates the public space made up of the volume.

The access is hierarchized, so that it directly faces the access square and consolidates the institutional character of the building. As part of the technical requirements and uses of the program, it allocates a volume to the technical room, separated from the main building and in bar format on one side.

Another of the concepts rescued from the area to enhance the cultural identity that is appropriated by this proposal and that are reflected in the architectural language, are the aspects of the Selk'nam culture that at some point inhabited the Timaukel area.

That is why it is taken as a principle to study the context and the document called "Guide to Architectural Design Ethnic Public Infrastructure XII Region". In the fifth chapter, called "Beliefs", the origin of the types of paint/scratches used by the Sho'ort depending on their location with respect to the cardinal points is explained.

That is why the strategy to integrate culture into signage (and the project in general) is done through the different artistic patterns and they are ordered according to sector. In this way, the cultural identity of the area can be seen reflected both in the way in which the spaces are distributed, and in the graphic aspects that accompany the architecture, such as the signage.

The general design of the Town Hall Building manifests its public identity and provides meeting spaces for the community. Always having as a premise the natural context that surrounds the project and framing the landscape in all the venues, regardless of their quality.

The proposed public space takes into account the relationship that the current project has with the civic square of Timaukel, generating a route that allows the user to value the municipal building in its route. 2 meeting points are proposed, corresponding to bonfires that highlight the importance of gathering around the fire in the local community.

This resource of "meeting spaces", reinterpreting the "hain", is replicated throughout the northern extension of the property, creating collective nodes connected through walkways.

The proposed landscaping collects local species, allowing the user to connect with their surroundings while touring the project.
