The plot for the new building is located between the grown villages on a main road, close to commercial buildings and multi-storey housing construction of the 1970s on a structurelessly grown interface between the districts of the community. With self-conscious placement as a punctiform building, the town hall marks the transition between the parts of the community and, through its attitude, makes its prominent function visible. The compact building creates a generous space for „Bürgerplatz“ (citizens square) and „Ratsgarten“, which is the prelude to the further development of the landscape park and that forms a connection to the nearby community institutions (school, event hall, fire brigade).
The town hall is interwoven with the open space, it opens invitingly and transparent with several entrances to all directions. While on the ground floor with the registration office the functions with the largest public traffic are located, concentrated on the first floor in the beletage stand out representative functions such as wedding hall and a large multipurpose hall, located above the administration. The four-storey town hall organizes flexible room structures around an atrium with a spacious staircase.
Views of the landscape park and the community open up from all floors. The facades show the inner building structure. The ground floor opens with large glass surfaces and recesses, the prominent function of the first floor is characterized by a larger room height, wider window formats and terraces. The façade structure is designed for a flexible interior with deliberate setting of individual openings.
