The project, which used to house the local school, has been renovated and divided into two flats, one on each floor, each with spacious outdoor spaces. The one on the ground floor has a direct access to the garden, while the one on the first floor has a terrace with an unobstructed view on the vineyards. A double height at the entrance and in the living room offers generous volumes to the upstairs apartment.
Particular attention has been paid to the existing house to preserve the old walls, timber frames and carved stones. On the front façade, the new openings have been precisely sized so as not to alter the original character of the former school. Tiles were chosen as flooring in the kitchens and bathrooms and a new wooden floor in the common areas. The wooden frame was deliberately left raw, without varnish in order to contrasts with the white walls, bringing a beautiful luminosity to the rooms. In the spirit of sustainable development, solar panels have been integrated into the roof.
