With the master plan "Picardiestrasse" in Schöftland, three thematically different construction areas were defined and will be built upon one after the other. The already constructed extension to the former "Freihof" inn is followed by the second stage "Tuffeaux", which is composed of three residential buildings with a total of 26 apartments, either for rent or for sale. In the third stage, a mixed use of living and working is planned on the site of the existing workshop. 

The crescent-shaped "Suhre" river embraces a large part of the site and, together with the riverbanks, characterizes the atmosphere of the village. The three buildings are staggered in such a way that the courtyard-like exterior spaces become perceptible in the interplay of the stream and street space. The five-storey building with ten 2.5 to 4.5-room rental apartments marks the beginning of the group of buildings and at the same time creates a transition to the neighbouring buildings on Picardie Street. The two four-storey houses, each with eight 3.5 and 4.5-room apartments for sale, are a response to the smaller scaled single-family homes along Benoit-Mayweg.

The centre of each apartment is the centrally located living space, through which all the other rooms are accessed. The central space is lit via the exterior spaces, which are cut into the building volume. These spatial penetrations, created with two-storey loggias, characterise the individual apartments.

The staggering of the three houses both in plan and section accentuates their plasticity. The irregular perforation with hole-like window openings, anthracite-coloured metal profiles and the yellowish-beige colour of the coarse facade plaster are inspired by the tuff stone. A porous type of rock that is often found in gardens in combination with water.
