STUDIO 58 SIGNS PROJECT FROM A BRAZILIAN JEWERLY AT FLÓRIDA MALL, ORLANDO
To expand the Unique Jewerly stores, the brand chose the Florida Mall - in Orlando, United States - one of the biggest malls in the central area. With design and architecture by Studio 58, led by the architects Barbara Kleppe and Simone Andrade, the store received a concept design, which should be expanded to other branches.
The biggest challenge, according to the architects, was to complete the work in just 40 days. For this, necessary adaptations were made to the layout and bespoke joinery, designed exclusively for the needs of the store. The joinery was made with cava handles, sculpted in the joinery itself so that the design would be cleaner. On top of the central unit, there is a tempered glass top that serves as storage and display. In addition, the choice of oval mirrors refers to the feminine curves and allows different spaces for experimentation.
Abusing the pink tone used as the main color in the visual identity, a facade with wooden slats demarcated the entrance to Unique and the black doors call attention to the entrance being more inviting.
As it is a feminine brand, the choice of the Cherry Blossom for setting was a point of reference and delicacy associated with the jewels. An ‘instagrammable’ space was also created by a guest artist, Etsy, who set up a tree made of clay serving as a backdrop in the store window.
To create a rain of petals effect in the store, a ceiling arrangement with flowers that seem to fall on the space, and pendant lamps with branch design were chosen to complement the idea.
The concept store project also received the creation of a small area ofcoffee and champagne, serving as support for an agenda of meetings.
