Valsana Hotel & Apartments

Valsana Hotel & Apartments

BRUAG as Manufacturers

The appearance of the Valsana Hotel and the apartments is distinguished by its uniquely patterned wooden facade and balcony cladding. Located in Switzerland at an elevation of 1800 meters above sea level, this ‘flying wooden cube’ integrates beautifully into the surrounding mountain scenery.

The patterned balcony panels were produced by Swiss manufacturer Bruag. Their Cellon panels are made from a high pressure laminate and laser cut to achieve custom patterning. Thanks to a glass installed behind the panels, the balcony balustrade is non-climbable. More from the Manufacturer:

Nature is clearly at the center of the new Valsana Hotel & Apartments in Arosa. The most distinguishing feature: Balcony claddings perforated according to the individual design of the architects and coated in wooden style. Wood, stone and glass combined create a marvelous combination of rustic and modern elements.

Located at 1800 meters above sea level, the “flying wooden cube” integrates seamlessly into the surrounding mountain scenery. State of the art architecture with wooden and stone aspects determine the aesthetics of the three buildings containing 40 hotel rooms and nine holiday apartments. Luxury where it makes sense – otherwise the Valsana Hotel & Apartments reverts to understatement, yet only uses highest quality materials. Wherever the guests stay, the architecture of the Hotel and the perforated Bruag panels always enable them to enjoy mesmerizing views of the beautiful scenery in the region.

Filigreethankstolaser technology While certainly shaping the design, the balcony panels produced by Bruag are also a fall protection and have been certified as such. Thanks to the glass which was installed behind the panels, the claddings are non-climbable. Even with a share of open space of more than 70%, our Cellon panel which consists of high pressure laminate, is stable. The design of the panels bears the signature of the Valais architectural practice Mooser Lauber Stucky Architects AG. Valsana Hotel & Apartments is not the only object which displays the versatility and individuality of the Bruag products. Entirely in the spirit of our motto “Innovation for Architecture”, we deliver completely individualized designs which combine functionality and design. The Bruag products can be used as claddings, stair railings, room dividers, room acoustics elements, privacy screens or corporate identity with acoustic features. Bruag has successfully completed projects in interior as well as exterior constructions all over the world. More information can be found at www.bruag.ch and at this year’s Swissbau trade conference (Hall 1.0, stand C72).
