Oxigeno Arquitectura created the design for the actual corporative for Vanity Fair by creating a bohemian artistic concept. It reflects the spirit of its three most important brands: The North Face, Reef and Vans. A carefree style by an urban culture in scenarios alike to Los Angeles and San Francisco. One of the main ideas for this project was to leave all the engineering facilities visible in order to create a new style and provoke neutral spaces that would contrast with collision areas. Because of this, the design had to be based in the aesthetics and interconnections of project pipelines and all of those elements involving the structure. On the other hand it’s always important to exploit each of the spaces with functionality. VANS is an office characterized by a vanguard way of working. A lot of open areas were proposed where the user usually feels more conformable working at. The driving idea behind the design was to create a direct relation “in&out” with the exterior providing natural light and direct views to the exterior. All the same, the relaxation areas were to be functional as well. We wanted a space that could be like a home kitchen. It’s important to talk about the eating habits of the users, usually an “office man” won’t eat as good as home. So what we intended here was to provide the possibility to eat on a vintage style, “as good as home”. As for the dinning area, it was planned to be used as open working spots also. It has connectors all over with flat screens and mobile furniture for any informal meeting. It is fully prepared to be used like a working spot as to be for dinning area. And so it is, all of the spaces were created by the same principles of full functionality and design.
