A modern classical Gurugram home: crafted by NSN Studio Divine that maximises Neutrals, Natural Light and Nifty storage

Since the inception of Delhi-based NSN Studio Divine in 2004, the design firm has been providing in-depth spatial design consultancy and turnkey build solutions to diverse projects and building typology. Shrruti Behall and Rajat Behl, both graduates of Kala Academy, share a deep commitment to crafting customised, impeccable interiors that reflect their clients' unique creative visions, personalities, and lifestyles. With a shared design ethos, they conceptualised the design for this apartment in Beverly Park.

Warmth, comfort and dynamism set the mood through this sunlit and breezy Beverly Park, Gurgram abode, designed by NSN Studio Divine. A modern vocabulary rules the roost, in this sprawling 4,500 square feet apartment, interwoven with nuances of vintage and international vignettes carving a riveting narrative.

The visual symphony within the residence is marked by recurring arches that define the portals and openings rhythmically, reflective marble on the floors and mirrors on the walls enhance the luminosity of the rooms. Intense colours add intrigue to the overall neutral palette whilst delicate patterns and glint of metal add to the opulence.

With the NSN Studio Divine’s Shrruti Behall & Rajat Behl at the helm, each element is creatively and perceptively thought about. The clients, a senior couple moving from a capacious villa had a clear vision from the outset: to create a modern and mellifluous home that exudes warmth and character, is functional with nifty storage and artistically displays their lovingly curated collection of art and decor.

The home mesmerism at the foyer itself, where one is greeted by a vibrant green bench highlighting an exquisitely carved wall panel, positioned opposite an unobtrusive shoe rack that is discreetly hidden within the electrical space. An elegant powder room and a graceful mandir behind the shoe cabinet were carved by downsizing a large bathroom. Saunter further into a cosy lounge that flows through to join the expansive living room. Anchored by dark herringbone walnut flooring, and mirrored wall panels the lounge evokes an ambient vibe.

Neoteric open shelves adorned with an array of art and greenery segregate the lounge from the living space, creating a dynamic juxtaposition. The boundaries of the study were re-imagined to add depth to the expansive living room that stands doused in an overall beige aesthetics, flavoured with touches of green, a statement chandelier and panoramic windows.

Two resplendent green armchairs flank the archway leading to a large corridor where artistically placed family pictures embellish the wall to create charm, with a vintage-influenced credenza boasting black leather shutters, and gold handles. On the left, the dining area seamlessly merges with an open kitchen that regales in a modern classical vernacular. A parred down grey backdrop gets accentuated with brilliant green tones on the dining chairs, soothing floral wallpaper, accent lights and a sumptuous balcony. A TV placed strategically adds to creating precious moments of togetherness and leisurely dining.

The guest bedroom to the right of the passage is doused in beige tones and is punctuated by a vivacious red bed, pendulum lights and mirrors on the back wall that expand the room visually. The next bedroom, the largest of the private spaces, is tailored for the client's son, who stays abroad, with ebullience. Deep blue walls elegantly contrast with a light grey bed and an inviting yellow ochre lounge chair, while the curtains and cushion perpetuate the colour scheme. The en-suite washroom is embellished with an accent wall clad in blue Onyx, while a customised basin hand-painted with blue flowers carries the thematic language further.

At the end of the corridor, the master bedroom awaits: an embodiment of comfort and opulence sunlit with two balconies, warm herringbone flooring with parallel tones on the ceiling, royal beige and brown bed and wall panels, augmented with a magnificent maroon lounge chair, all coalesce to underscores the rooms regal aesthetics. The TV wall seamlessly integrates hidden storage solutions, marrying functionality with luxury, while the washroom is resplendent with beige marble and an artistic mirror.

“We aimed to carve a sanctuary that encapsulates the essence of transitional design, deftly weaving together contemporary and traditional influences with a distinct identity. Our intent was to create timeless aesthetics while ensuring their practicality, embodying the residents’ aspirations for elegance and functionality,” says Shrruti Behall.
