The alteration to this 1899 heritage listed villa included the addition of a new sitting / ‘garden room’, laundry and service areas to accommodate a growing young family. To complement the heritage architecture our vision was to create a light pavilion like structure connecting the house to the surrounding gardens. 

We achieved this by using naturally durable materials that could run inside and out, designing the timber batten pergola to extend inside, and carefully placing full height and overhead glazing to reveal the outdoors and blur the lines between inside and out.
