In Oosterwold, a green agricultural area between Almere and Zeewolde, land development is entirely left to individual initiative. One of the principles is that half of the plot must be dedicated to urban farming. This was the perfect starting point for the Oostrom family, with plans for a vineyard and a B&B featuring a natural swimming pond—staying in the vineyard.
On a beautiful and spacious plot bordering a woodland edge, we opted for a single-story villa. The floor plan is carré-shaped, with a living wing and a sleeping wing connected by the entrance area.
From the street, the architecture reveals little, offering a modest appearance and ensuring ample privacy. On the garden side, the home opens up to the vineyard and the semi-enclosed courtyard.
The wings of Villa Oostrom each have their own distinctive character and identity, yet the aluminum roof and wooden façade elements unify them into a harmonious whole.
