The commission consisted in the design of a series of cabins for 2 people on a small plot, making privacy the main consideration during the design phase. As the number of cabins that the client requested increased, more privacy was required as the cabins began to encroach on one another.
Each cabin is proposed as a folding element that forms the floor, walls, and ceiling simultaneously in an elegant swoop. The architecture appropriately has double walls generating an acoustic containment towards the nearest neighbour. The folding element encloses the space creating a warm, private, and yet, light filled interior space.
