The concept of neighborhood is characteristic of Neuhausen. It describes the relationship with Schaffhausen and nearby Germany, as well as the interweaving of city and landscape. The open volumetry engages in a dialogue with its surroundings and offers exceptional living qualities, with its unique views to the west across a magnificent and widely visited Rhine Falls. Located directly at the Neuhausen am Rheinfall train station, the residential and commercial building was developed at a strategically important location in the heart of the center.
The buildings on the neighboring SIG site have an eave height of around 30 meters. This is significant for Industrieplatz and the urban backdrop of the Rhine Falls. The house adopts this height at the square and simultaneously introduces a new eave line of nearly 40 meters. The apartments offer a fantastic view and sunlight exposure. The shadow cast on neighboring properties is kept to a minimum. A three-story annex complements the project, extends the base, closes off the square, and shapes the transition to the neighborhood. On the ground floor, there are premises suitable for commercial use both at the square and along the street.
The facades facing Industrieplatz are substantial and constructed of stucco and concrete that is textured on both the horizontals and verticals elements. The color scheme with broken shades of white, gray, and beige consciously reference the neighborhood.
