Set within a neighborhood known for its MCM architectural legacy, the home engages its context not by mimicking the past, but by adopting its spirit: clean lines, intentional privacy, and a seamless relationship between inside and out.

The design centers around contrast and connection. Two volumes—the Main House and the Guest House—form an L-shaped plan that wraps a shared courtyard, offering privacy from the street while cultivating openness within. A bridge knits the two wings together, both physically and visually, creating layered perspectives and moments of pause as one moves through the home.

Material and form work together to distinguish each volume. Both structures sit atop stone podiums, anchoring them to the site, but their expressions diverge. The Main House emphasizes horizontality with extended lines and low massing, while the Guest House introduces a more vertical composition. The Main House features a board-formed concrete staircase that ties into its overall massing, while the Guest House includes a glass-wrapped staircase that connects all three levels.

Throughout the Wolfe Residence, architecture becomes a backdrop for both retreat and gathering. It reflects the rhythms of everyday life, offering places to connect, rest, and look outward—whether toward the private pool below or across the carefully framed views that unfold within.
