X Moto Space Renovation Project
X Moto Space – the starting point for the idea of a multifunctional space aimed at connecting the motorcycle community in Saigon, Vietnam, while also serving as an attraction and provider of protective gear products.
The first floor is dedicated to activities such as exchanging and sharing knowledge about motorcycle culture, combined with exhibitions and events.
The second floor serves as an internal workspace, incorporating an open-display storage area.
The core and consistent concept of the project is inspired by post-industrial factory buildings, evoking a raw, modern, and minimalist spirit in the rapidly developing and urbanizing Saigon.
Within a defined and limited space, we aim for selective deconstruction while preserving existing materials such as exposed concrete, glass, and façade systems.
The primary material proposed is galvanized steel sheets (Chrome-plated steel)-a common material with extensive applications in industrial and construction sectors in Vietnam. This material will be utilized throughout the project as a finishing material.
Mechanical processing methods such as edge bending, laser cutting, and CNC machining will be applied to retain the raw essence of the metal, recreating the architectural atmosphere of the post-industrial era. Elements such as partitions, wall panels, shelves, and furniture will be precisely fabricated in the factory before being assembled on-site. This approach reduces construction time and avoids surface discoloration caused by machine cutting or static welding.
The design follows a Minimalist approach, focusing on three core elements:
Clear lines: Flat surfaces, sharp edges, and the elimination of unnecessary details.
Neutral color palette: Exposed concrete and gray textured walls provide a foundation for the space. Mirror surfaces and Chrome-plated galvanized steel sheets create a distinctive silver-gray tone with reflective properties, offering a raw yet refined metallic finish.
Optimized functionality: Every detail and object in the design serves a specific purpose, avoiding unnecessary complexity.
