12A Apartment is located on the 12th floor of Q2 Terrace, Thảo Điền, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City – one of the most vibrant and rapidly developing areas in the city. With a total area of 65m², the apartment is designed for a couple of artists – a fashion designer – seamlessly blending a living space with a photography studio.
Our goal is to recreate a sense of "transition" and "interweaving" within this space, where the dynamic, energetic rhythm of urban life harmonizes with the peaceful, tranquil atmosphere of a retreat.
Harnessing Natural Energy for Balance
Natural light & fresh air: Large glass doors paired with sheer linen curtains allow sunlight and breeze to flow in, creating a soft and relaxing ambiance.
A cohesive warm palette: A primary beige tone combined with a subtle matte finish on the walls, doors, ceiling, and wooden flooring enhances warmth and continuity. This visual effect expands the space while serving as a neutral canvas that highlights the beauty of the furniture.
Wabi-Sabi aesthetics: The apartment embraces the "Wabi-Sabi" philosophy, incorporating rustic natural wood, select "Mid-Century" furniture pieces, and locally inspired decorative elements to create a minimalist yet deeply evocative space.
Kitchen & utility area: The focal point of this section is a sleek, compact bar counter clad in natural stone with earthy brown tones, complementing the overall aesthetic of the apartment.
