We at our studio, truly believe that quality of space and aesthetics of any home should be an outcome of designer’s aspiration as well as client’s personality and believes.
We take over interior design projects for Residence, Commercial, Retail and Furniture product.
Hitesh and Harsha Jain are in their 40’s with their two sons, Aahan (16 years) and Viaan (11 years), who had been dreaming of their new home for the last 5 years. In their initial brief, it was mentioned that they needed a space that looked aged and not like a posh new space. They wanted a space that helped them disconnect from the fast-moving metro life.
Further they said – make this space “YUTORI”
Completely unaware about this word we researched about it.
“YUTORI” - a Japanese word that generally translates to a space having a sense of spaciousness, relaxation, and breathing room in one’s life, both physically and mentally. It’s about creating a space for balance, reducing stress, and allowing for moments of reflection and rejuvenation.
The design process of this project revolved around this central idea – Yutori
Minimalistic and modern design approach was adopted. Simple and functional forms were the primary focus. Unnecessary layers of panelling were intentionally avoided to maintain a minimalistic approach.
The material palette was also kept simple and minimal to allow the space feel free and breathable.
White oak wood, veneer, lime wash paint and splashes of colour in fabric and plants formed the material palette for this home.
