Zucchini is a fine dining restaurant in Ahmedabad, evolving from the maiden restaurant in Udaipur. The USP of the chain is its authentic food, which reflects the blend of cooking skills of international chefs, organic ingredients, Parisian cheeses etc. Since the food served is Indian as well as Italian, the restaurant is a mélange, showing both. The design keywords are 'Classy, Calm, Chic and Contemporary'.
Design ideas and inspirations for the project: 1. Coffer Ceiling Design- Spatially, the space was a 90 feet deep rectangle with a very low beam height of 9 feet. A patterned coffer ceiling with mirror work is employed to create illusion of height. The spectacular result is delivered by using 3D printed CNC boards and mirror laminates into contemporary design pattern. 2. Mirror-work- All mirrors are intentionally pasted at different angles to give broken reflections, enhancing its character. 3. Geometric patterns- Hexagonal geometry is employed in ceiling design, screens and shelving. Stone cladding on wall and Mirror-work are done in rectangular mosaic. 4. Transition- As soon as one is off the main street a screened entrance guides into restaurant through the water-body. The calm is brought about by soothing colours, organised interiors and serene music. Elegant wooden furniture is used. The material palette is sophisticated, rich and in place. A meditative Buddha backdrop signals quiet. The restraint in keeping the space as clean as possible brings out the chic and classiness.
