ZUD Coffee

Zud Café is located on Barão de Tatuí Street, in Santa Cecília, and it is our second project on this street. The property where the café is located features a large space in area, narrow and deep. The challenge was to occupy it well without placing the service counter too far inside the property.

The counter has an entirely irregular design that aims to accommodate all work functions, the respective equipment, and above all, a sculptural character that gives identity to the café.
The bases are made of masonry, but its 'body' and upper surface are made of cast-in-place concrete – and this concreting was an interesting challenge.

Due to the great depth of the space, we set back the café's "façade" by approximately 5 meters, creating a covered veranda area.
In this area, we placed more tables and benches, forming a pleasant seating environment with direct connection to the street.

In this way, the entrance frame was designed to integrate the indoor and outdoor spaces of the café. With a steel structure, it uses a counterweight system to raise the guillotine window, which connects the environments.

Using wooden acoustic panels, we proposed a visually striking element for the café's space. Together with the other interior finishes, the main wall of the environment features these panels along its entire length, from the veranda area to the back of the space, visually connecting them and ensuring sound comfort throughout.
Formed by Eucatex boards structured with wooden battens and internally lined with glass wool panels, the panels are an architectural strategy that provides a space that is pleasant both acoustically and visually.
