THAD

Founded in 1958, the Architectural Design & Research Institute of Tsinghua University (THAD) is a leading architectural design institute based in Beijing, China. Leveraging on Tsinghua University's profound and extensive academic achievement and competitiveness in the interdisciplinary field, THAD, as a comprehensive platform that combines academic study, professional research, and project implementation of Tsinghua University, is adhering to the striving goal of “Designing Meticulously, Creating the finest, Transcending Ourselves, Striving for the best”. Its design ranks among the best in China. Currently, THAD has more than 1,300 design professionals, including five academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and three National Design Masters. Our projects have won over 600 outstanding national and provincial design awards, ranking top among China’s architectural design institutes.
