Inspired by the visual and structural harmony between stone and glass, Ebb & Flow mosaic wall tiles echo the complex rhythms of nature—and of life. The illusion of three-dimensional patterning rendered in a smooth, “tromp l’oeil” surface gives this unique tile blend added allure. Crossville’s Ebb & Flow mosaic can be used for interior walls and covered exterior wall applications.
If you expect your design materials to rise to the level of your creative vision, Porcelain Stone by Crossville is the clear choice. Sustainability and recycling
Crossville products contain recycled content that is a mix of material from our own manufacturing processes, previously red tile, and post-manufactured waste from other sources. The amount and source of our recycled material varies by production run in an effort to reduce overall environmental impact. For this reason, we are no longer reporting minimum recycled content by series.
Crossville has recycled over 12 million pounds of previously discarded filtrate waste, in addition to red waste recycling. Crossville also accepts and recycles reclaimed, previously installed tile through its Tile Take-Back™ Program. Previously, pre and post-consumer tile has been considered non-recyclable. While many tile manufacturers, including Crossville, have successfully reused scrap powders and unfired tile, hundreds of millions of pounds of damaged or otherwise unsellable red tile (tile in its finished state), have gone to land fills each year.
Additionally, there has been no environmentally friendly manner to dispose of previously installed tile. We have developed a proprietary system of processing porcelain tile back into a powder used in manufacturing new tile, allowing us to recycle our own red scrap tile that previously went to landfill. Additionally, through the groundbreaking Tile Take-Back Program, Crossville can take back samples previously installed, further alleviating a concern for environmentally-minded designers and building owners. Through Crossville’s revolutionary Tile Take Back program and internal red scrap recycling, Crossville has recycled millions of pounds of red, pre- and post-consumer porcelain tile in the United States, enabling it to maintain net waste consumption in its plants since 2012.
Performance Characteristics:
Ebb & Flow tiles are engineered to withstand the rigors of daily use and maintain their beauty over time. With a water absorption rate of less than 0.5%, these tiles are suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications, including wet areas such as bathrooms and kitchens.
Furthermore, Ebb and Flow tiles boast impressive strength and durability, with a breaking strength exceeding 250 pounds and a modulus of rupture of at least 40 N/mm². This makes them resistant to chipping, cracking, and scratching, ensuring long-lasting performance in even the most demanding environments.
Advanced finishing technologies
In addition to stunning tile, we offer advanced finishes such as the protective Cross-Sheen® finish to aid in the tile's longevity, or the texturized Cross-Slate® and Cross-Tread® finishes for enhanced traction in wet and greasy floor areas. As the first American ceramic tile manufacturer to offer large-format porcelain tile panels, our customers also enjoy a wide range of sizing in a variety of products.
