The reconstruction of the urban complex of L’Aquila, after the damage suffered during the earthquake of 06 April 2009, has allowed the historic headquarters of Credem Banca to reopen in the city center. With over 600 branches, business centers and financial shops, and approximately 1.2 million customers, the Group has been regarded by the European Central Bank as “the most solid among commercial banks in Europe and the best in Italy“.
In 2022, the Credem Group recorded a total business of over 136 billion euro, between loans and collections.

The Institute’s decision to reopen new premises in the historic center demonstrates its commitment to invest in the area to pursue the development strategy and actively contribute to the economic and social recovery od L’Aquila. In fact, the branch occupies the ground floor and a portion of the first floor of the Palazzo Betti in Piazza Duomo 62. The historic building was built in the second half of the 19th century in the neo-Renaissance style by the will of the lawyer Gustavo Betti, of Tuscan origin, who worked in the trade industry. The building was already modernized at the beginning of the twentieth century, when the side entrances were built.

Since the 2009 earthquake, the agency had been relocated to the suburbs to maintain operational continuity during the long restoration projects, which ended in early 2020.

For the new headquarters, Newfloor supplied 250 sqm of raised floor type X15P0K: double ceramic coupled with glass fiber net between the two layers. The ceramic chosen as top covering is from the Spazio collection by Casalgrande Padana, in anthracite colour. The choice of the X-floor panel, with its 26 mm thick, made possible to satisfy one of the primary project requirements: reach a finished floor height of no more than 7 cm. Furthermore, the installation of the SNFS type substructure, without stringers and with 35/50 mm regulation, has left enough space for cables and technical systems to be housed in the plenum.
