Elio Del Nest a research solutions-integrated design purposely articulating buildings andnatural landscapes to form an urban air-filtration scheme. Together with a Nature-mimicry concept of Urban Forest, the landscape design aims to create amicroclimate with clean air and generating a healthy environment even forfuture generations.

Elio Del Nest is located in Bangna, a fast growing district of Bangkok. As a consequence of rapid urbanization, Bangna faces several environmental issues that are air pollution and insufficient public green spaces. This sustainable residential project offer green spaces with landscape function to reduce PM 2.5 that derives from urban growth, vehicular emissions and Industrial activities.

In response to the city’s future development “Elio Del Nest promotes a research solutions-integrated design purposely articulating buildings and natural landscapes to form an urban air-filtration scheme aimedat reducing air pollution and generating a healthy environment even for future generations”

After the study, the air-filtration strategy was proposed at an appropriate location on the site. PM2.5 absorption zone is located at the entry plaza to collecting fine particles. Carbon absorption zone aims to reduce Carbon from the parking lots. VOCs absorption zone is located in the North to reduce VOCs released from the nearby industries.

For Masterplan design, The team intended to create a microclimate that offers clean air and improves human's comfort zone by proposing a nature-mimicry concept of urban forest for the residents and for the city. As a representation of an urban tropical forest, the welcome area is covered by layers of native vegetation complementing the forest's richness and strengthening the ability of plants to reduce PM 2.5.

Nature-Mimicry concept is represent the main design ideas that derived from nature. In the blissful urban forest, birds and their habitats would appear as an indication of abundance and exuberant bloom. The landscape team explored a bird nest as a muse for this concept.

At the central space lies a secret lagoon acting as a well spring of fertility of the forest, and here the residents can experience relaxation and enjoyment in the natural pool settings. The interlocking of green and blue spaces is located at the Oxygen Valley. The iconiq bird’s nest provides a sense of comfort and enclosure that is surrounded with a variety of native plants which act as an air pollution protector.

The comprehensive design of Elio Del Nest articulates aspect of environmental, neighborhood communities and residence’s quality of life with the creation of urban habitats to introduce the new fusion between urban living and nature by harmonizing green spaces and amenities turn this new design into Elio Del Nest : Nature Mimicry +Air filtration Residences.

“Elio Del Nest articulated this knowledge as the foundation to set up the Urban Air-filtration concept with strong intention to create a microclimate that offers clean air and improves human's comfort zone.”
