The work focused on the fifth and top floor of the Maianga Unitel building in Luanda, covering around 284 m². The space, which was previously overly compartmentalized, was reorganized to create a central open space, complemented by a meeting room, auditorium, relaxation areas for employees, and a partial extension over the existing terrace. GV+A Glass partitions ensure natural lighting throughout the floor, while the new layout favors flexibility and different ways of working, through adaptable furniture and versatile solutions. Located next to Bungo Central Station, in the Port of Luanda area, the project consists of the renovation and expansion of an existing building, covering 1,500 m² on a 17,200 m² plot. The aim was to create a contemporary market for collective use, dedicated to food and leisure, capable of enhancing the location and reinforcing its urban centrality. The intervention preserves the existing structure and walls, while expanding and redesigning the roof with a new metal structure, allowing greater natural light to enter without compromising the thermal comfort of the space. The new provincial hospital of Menongue answers a need for providing the region of Cuando Cubango with a high-tech and modern hospital, with far-reaching services and a 2,000-bed capacity.To do so, a modulated and functional architectural design has been proposed. The structural reticle guarantees maximum functioning flexibility. It also makes the adaptation to the continuous changes to which the health system is exposed without altering its configuration or functioning possible. It can be easily expanded thanks to the strategic disposition of the building on the terrain. Housing for the doctors who work in the hospital are placed at the end of the parcel.
