A lung of air and tranquillity that fills the living room on the ground floor with light and colour.To enhance this natural pocket, a large panoramic window has been opened, which acts as a frame for the living room.  Ph. The renovation project of this elegant house in the center of Milan involves the preservation of period elements while integrating them with new design elements. The central core of the house is the hallway with the coffered ceiling that generates spaces and shapes. Through color the architecture is emancipated, evolving from a past stage to a contemporary one. Powder blue is the color that covers the entire space, alongside the wine red that invades the portals that are inspired by Piero Portaluppi's curves. Marusho was founded in Yokohama 55 years ago. We were in charge of the renovation design of the 1st floor sales floor, staircase, and façade, in continuation of last year's second-floor clothing area. In contrast to the 2nd floor, which was mainly a formal Kimono for weddings, the 1st floor displays 3 types of Kimono which are Furisode for coming-of-age ceremonies, Hakama for graduation ceremonies, and　Shichi-Go-San　for kids. When we first got invited to design an innovative STEM center in Shumen, Bulgaria, we were pleased to work with a young team of teachers and professionals, who helped us set the program. Happily, their views and needs matched with our approach and together we were able to establish a design proposal with which we applied for state funding and subsequently the school won the finances needed for the realization. Teachers wanted to have the proper facilities to prepare children for the professions of the future, like environmentalist, computer specialist, robotics engineer and others in the STEM field. Anthos was born from the desire to achieve a design that simultaneously takes advantage and enhances the architectural features of the space.The original space consisted of a single tunnel-shaped room divided into four squared bays with vaulted ceiling. These elements fulfill the minimalist, loft-like interior with playfulness and unexpectedness, give softness and depth to the surfaces, and at the same time enhance the impression of modernity.
