Architectural minimalism

The Thread Hub is a mixed-use office and commercial building designed as an integrated environment where education, creativity, production, and retail are seamlessly connected. Rather than functioning solely as a workplace or a shopping destination, the project creates a complete ecosystem for the growth of a fashion brand and its future professionals. Rather than starting from a blank site, this project began with a partially constructed reinforced-concrete frame that had been abandoned during construction. The existing structural system, together with an already-built swimming pool, established fixed conditions that could not be altered, transforming the project into an architectural exercise in adaptation rather than replacement. The greatest challenge was working within the limitations of a narrow structural footprint while fulfilling the client's request for a spacious contemporary family villa. This project operates on the interplay between matter and perspective. When is something a space between rooms and when is it a room. Is something a floor or a kitchen. Is it inside or outside. A Matter of Perspective transforms a two-level apartment into a narrative about perception of space. Matte glass panels diffusing light and shadows, referencing the steam state of matter, and sliding partitions shifting the occupant’s perspective. The project is conceived as a monolithic coastal retreat where architecture is defined through continuity, simplicity, and material honesty. Rather than relying on rigid orthogonal geometry, the design is shaped by a sequence of soft, flowing curves that create a calm spatial experience while echoing the gradual erosion of coastal landscapes by wind and water.
