Oroklini Residence

The project consists of a three-story family apartment building, featuring two flats with three bedrooms each and a top-floor apartment with three bedrooms and a mezzanine level. All apartments offer two ensuite rooms and a master bedroom, along with open-plan kitchen, dining, and living areas. The rooftop garden is accessible to all residents, creating a shared outdoor space. Blending contemporary modern living with elements of traditional Cypriot architecture, the design draws inspiration from the geometric expressions found in the old streets of Larnaca. The ground floor incorporates stone cladding, enabling the building to harmonise with the site, landscape, and neighbourhood, while also dividing it into two distinct volumes. Subtle ge... More

Solarium House

From the get-go, our simplicity-loving clients, a couple with their three dogs, requested a compact house with a sunroom where everyone could come together. However, the land presented a certain challenge - it is located in a chaotic urban zone with limited natural light. As a result, we started looking into different ways to handle natural light as well as to create an open space in this particular context. In addition, during this process, we realized that it would be important to design a dwelling place with a sense of psychological distance from its surroundings.  ©Ikuya Sasaki ©Ikuya Sasaki First of all, we created an open space, hereinafter referred to as the Solarium, with an atrium in the centre of the buil... Monastery House

When looking for somewhere to build their holiday home the decision was easy for our clients. Their heritage was strongly linked to the remote and rugged lands of the Mani Peninsula in Greece. It was the location on which they had their hearts set for a holiday retreat for their extended, multigenerational family. The plot of land they purchased was set high on a mountainside offering spectacular views, which can only really be compared to travelling on an aeroplane, peering down on the village and the sea below. Panagiotis Voumvakis The brief:Our task was to create a space for the family to come together whilst also making room for them each to have individual space within the complex. Due to the remote and rather wild location of th... More

Wingspan Event and Conference Center

The Wingspan Event & Conference Center provides Washington County with an impressive world-class facility with year-round opportunities to host visitors, while supporting the diverse needs of a growing community in Hillsboro, Oregon. Rooted deep in heritage and history, the timeless design draws inspiration from a combination of contextual forces intrinsic to the site. The wing-like “butterfly” form of the main roof was inspired by the building’s proximity to the Hillsboro airport, and mirrors the profile of the coastal range nearby. Cross-laminated timber (CLT) reflects the rich timber heritage of the area. Caption Caption The building highlights the 40,000 SF exposition hall contiguous to the state-of-the-... More

Solhagaparken

Solhagaparken is a residential project in Masmo, a suburb located about 20 kilometers south of central Stockholm. The five-story building is situated next to the existing Solhagaparken.   Masmo is in many ways a typical suburban residential area in Vårby, Huddinge. The area was completed in 1964 and is characterized by several large apartment buildings in red brick, arranged around the lush Solhagaparken. Masmo is a place of great contrasts, with expansive green spaces and forests wedged between two elevated highways that connects the area to central Stockholm. To the east, the area is defined by the dramatic slope of Masmoberget and to the west, by the water that connects Huddinge to Botkyrka. Johan Dehlin Johan Dehlin... More

6 x 18 Slender House

The core concept driving Slender House was to punctuate the house with staggered cut-outs and strategically placed skylights. Despite the modest footprint, these design elements breathe life into the home, infusing it with light, air, and a sense of openness. The architects embraced the idea of sacrificing total floor area to create a space that resonated deeply with the client's lifestyle. Bharat Aggarwal Bharat Aggarwal Bharat Aggarwal Bharat Aggarwal At the heart of Slender House is the desire to foster connections among family members. Each cut-out and skylight serves a dual purpose, not just illuminating the space but also creating moments of interaction. Whether it's a shared glance from one floor to another or a... More

AM INN OFFICE BUILDING

Instead of a land-intensive expansion of the BORA sites in Niederndorf, LORENZATELIERS convinced our client with a compact densification of the already developed areas near the banks of the Inn. This keeps land use low and optimizes operational processes between the two existing buildings. With up to 20m long connecting bridges to the existing AT I/II buildings, the new AT III building forms a "company campus" with short distances. The lowering of the site level around the new building by means of two green "cut walls" and the preservation or replanting of the tree lined along the Innstrasse also embed the building in a park-like environment. Christian Flatscher Office space is planned for the 5 above-ground floors, which will be avai... More
