Parade serves as a vital interface between the development’s major office towers, luxury serviced residences, and the expansive One Bangkok Park, positioning retail as an immersive green urban playground that fosters wellbeing, community, and connectivity.
Crafting a Living Retail Landscape
Nestled between Bangkok’s iconic “green lungs,” Lumphini Park and Benjakitti Park, Parade extends the city’s verdant landscape directly into the retail precinct. Far beyond decorative landscaping, Lead8’s holistic design weaves living gardens, terraces, balconies, and elevated green corridors throughout the 120,000 square metres of retail architecture and interiors. This approach dissolves the boundaries between indoors and outdoors, creating a continuous, pedestrian-friendly journey enriched with biodiversity and framed by breathtaking city views.
Biophilic principles were the foundation of the design, with organic, leaf-like forms and carefully selected, locally sourced materials reflecting Thai craftsmanship and cultural heritage. These elements create a distinctive architectural language that honours place and culture, enhancing the visitor experience beyond commerce.
Collaboration and Smart Connectivity
Over nine years, Lead8 worked in close collaboration with the client, local design teams, and an international consortium to realise Parade’s vision as a complex, multi-dimensional precinct. Integrating seamlessly with Bangkok’s MRT network, including direct, uninterrupted access to Lumphini Station, the design embodies smart urban connectivity, encouraging public transit use and reducing reliance on private vehicles.
Immersive biophilic entryways, interactive LED media walls, and organic design motifs engage visitors from arrival, setting a sensory tone that merges urban vitality with the surrounding natural environment.
Championing Green and Sustainable Design
Parade at One Bangkok has set a new benchmark for sustainable retail developments in Southeast Asia. It is part of One Bangkok, the first development in Thailand to achieve LEED for Neighborhood Development (LEED-ND) Platinum certification and WELL Platinum targeting, underscoring a steadfast commitment to environmental stewardship, occupant wellbeing, and resilience.
Lead8’s design optimises natural daylight, ventilation, and energy efficiency while incorporating open green spaces and façades to mitigate urban heat island effects and enhance biodiversity.
