Affordable Family House is a contemporary residence designed to maximize spatial quality while maintaining a cost-efficient construction strategy. The project demonstrates how a compact footprint and a simple structural system can deliver a comfortable, modern home for families without compromising architectural character.
The house accommodates four bedrooms, with two bedrooms located on the ground floor and two bedrooms on the upper floor, creating a flexible layout suitable for growing families and multi-generational living.
At the heart of the home is a dramatic double-height living space defined by a generous central void. This architectural feature visually connects both floors while allowing abundant natural daylight to penetrate deep into the interior, creating a bright, airy, and spacious atmosphere.
The ground floor is organized around an open-plan living room, dining area, and kitchen that seamlessly connect to the outdoor terrace and garden, encouraging both everyday family life and social gatherings. The two ground-floor bedrooms provide accessibility and convenience, while the upper floor offers two additional private bedrooms overlooking the central living space through the void.
The architectural expression is intentionally simple and timeless, combining brick, white stucco, timber, steel, and expansive glazing. This restrained material palette reduces construction complexity while creating a warm contemporary character. Deep roof overhangs improve thermal comfort, and large windows maximize daylight and strengthen the connection between interior spaces and the surrounding landscape.
Designed as an affordable contemporary home, the project balances construction efficiency, environmental performance, and generous living spaces, demonstrating that high-quality architecture can remain accessible, practical, and economical for modern families.
