Alice Deal Middle School Expansion

The Deal Middle School expansion at 3815 Fort Dr NW, Washington, DC, is an $18.5 million design-build project led by MOYA Design Partners, in collaboration with Ashley McGraw Architects and Chiaramonte Construction. Scheduled for completion in 2024, the 22,500-square-foot expansion will enhance the school’s facilities while preserving its historic character, nearly 120 years old. “NEW – Neighbourhood for Educational Wonder” is the winning project of the international competition “Future School for Ukraine”, initiated by Lithuanian government for a faster and efficient reconstruction of schools damaged after the invasion of Ukraine, implemented by Central Project Management Agency in partnership with Lithuanian Union of Architects. The project has been awarded for its adaptability, sustainability, and speed of implementation. In Blumberg, a town in south-western Germany on the edge of the Black Forest, the municipality is modernising, reorganising, and expanding the town’s school campus. This will create a cohesive educational hub that unifies various school functions. Monio High School and Cultural Centre, Finland’s first three-storey timber log public building, showcases a pioneering idea for large-scale Finnish wood construction. Designed by Helsinki-based AOR Architects, Monio is situated in the former garrison area in the centre of Tuusula’s Hyrylä district (Tuusula is part of the Helsinki metropolitan area). Two new high schools in Montreal rethink the learning environment for their students

In Montreal, Quebec, two new high schools that aim to rethink the learning environment for their students opened for the 2024 autumn term. The two schools — Irma-LeVasseur and aux Mille-Voix (in the Anjou and Montréal-Nord boroughs of Montreal respectively) — were designed in collaboration by three Canadian architectural firms: TLA Architectes, UN architecture, and NEUF architect(e)s. Austrian architectural studio Bernardo Bader Architekten has completed a new primary school in Au, a town in the Bregenzerwald region of Vorarlberg, Austria. The school’s design and construction recalls the region’s traditional approach to building in wood. Gustav Willeit Au has a valued history of craftsmanship.
