MALLORCA 432

In the Sagrada Família neighbourhood, in the very heart of Barcelona, we are carrying out a project of full refurbishment and interior rehabilitation of a dwelling located in a protected 1950s building. To refurbish and rehabilitate the existing architectural heritage in order to adapt it to the new needs of its inhabitants is always highly rewarding. We are faced with a typology of dwelling with separated, rigid rooms and a high number of bedrooms, which does not suit the current use by the couple who live there. A redistribution and connection of the daytime spaces is proposed, in order to gain greater flexibility and to create quality spaces for their use and enjoyment. Thus, the key intervention consists in removing the bedroom... More

CASA VS

The house is located on a rectangular plot in a residential area in the municipality of Santa Maria de Palautordera. The project consists of a house for a couple with two children, who want to build only part of the plot, leaving the maximum of free space as a garden, as they love to spend time outdoors. Pol Viladoms From the first sketches, the house has been conceived as a compact construction and at the same time permeable to the outside. The building is concentrated on the eastern and northern boundaries by means of two linear bodies: a two-storey volume containing the house program and a second, smaller building used as a parking and storage space. A series of light porches and lattices create a series of spaces that dissolve the... More

House in Sant Pere de Ribes

THE PLACE: This was a place that had already been inhabited and what was left of it was beautiful. Even more beautiful than before it was abandoned. Its abandonment and the loss of its meaning and function turned the architecture into a landscape perfectly embedded in its surroundings. José Hevia The place is inhabited by occupying the ruin and extending a series of intimate and intertwined spaces and gardens. José Hevia THE HOUSE: The clients longed to build a home to live and work. A winter garden where to restore rescued furniture, a library where to paint, a space where to relocate a kitchen that has accompanied them for a long time, a studio where to work, a place where to sleep and love each other, a garden w... Casas Cartama

We started this assignment in order to give a new life to a real estate development that has been stagnant since 2004. Therefore, we have to adapt to an already executed concrete structure and design a new distribution, not only inside, generating more open spaces and diaphanous, but silvering a new way of life in the houses. Juanan Barros Juanan Barros Juanan Barros Juanan Barros We suppressed the external stairs of the plot to center the entrance to the house through the garage, making it more accessible and direct from the outside, and thus leaving the ground floor more flexible to relocate all the rooms and propose new façade openings that allow us to enjoy the wonderful views that this natural environment of...
