The building of the Padre Moreau Library housed one of the first spaces intended for education at Santa Maria school, built in the 1950s, the building underwent several modifications and a major renovation in the 1990s so that it could house a library. More than two decades later, the need to renew the space where children and teenagers meet the world of literature and the use of digital media as a research tool for the formation of critical readers has arisen. The idea of the project for the new secondary school of Osio Sotto, situated inside a public park, derives from a dialogue with the surrounding natural context. Fabio Mantovani The entire façade is organized according to a pattern of horizontal lines with vertical slats. The texture composes a geometric game originating from the form of the windows and glazed surfaces, while the colour scheme of the finishings, in different shades of greens and reds, reflects the way the surrounding vegetation changes its tones and colours with the seasons. The school designed by Teco+Partners rises in the new urban expansion area of Isola Vicentina in the zone of Vallorcola. It is surrounded by green and looks directly onto the last western foothills of the Lessini Mountains.The building is characterized by the dynamic profile of the great sloping roof. This has a curving development, both lengthwise and transversally, that relates it to the natural forms of the hills and the surrounding landscape. The project consists of the construction of a school including classes ranging from nursery school to high school as well as the school administration and canteen (total capacity of 1000 students). Saint Genevieve’s school was previously located in the centre of Saint-Jory. The classes, spanning from primary school to middle school, where housed in rundown and restricted buildings no longer conform to current safety regulations. Urban renewal projects for the historic centre, as well as the opportunity to move the town hall into the historic buildings occupied by the school, cemented the project to relocate the school to a more modern and spacious location. The grounds of the Waldorf School in Prenzlauer Berg possess a unique urban positioning between socialist prefabricated structures, Wilhelminian style blocks and the green spaces of the Jewish cemetery. The school building, having undergone a spirited renovation process, is a 5-storey prefab building from the 1970s.The after-school care centre and later extensions were designed in a completely different style. The new centre docks on the school’s courtyard stretching towards the sports hall, providing the schoolyard with a structural back to the street and a clear centre. This new 2-storey elementary school houses premises for children with special needs, two groups of 4 and 5 year old preschoolers and 14 classrooms for pupils in grades 1 to 6.Depicting a mother goose sheltering her young, the origami-inspired structure spreads wings from its central agora, or meeting place. The upper floors of each wing separated by the agora, discourage the mingling of the older and younger children and are accessed at either end by a dedicated staircase. J.Prevert school need a new restaurant to replace the old one. The elementary school consist of 2 buidings.The new buiding is located on a corner of the school group, surronded by large and high residential areal in green land.The buiding is a simple volume wrapped with steel frame that serve three fonctions : - create unity with the other school building with the same angular geometry, - create solar protection in front of the windows, - protect physically the restaurant from the outside,The volume is very colorful (division of green and yellow) and contrast with the white of the frame and the interior.
