Villa Anelli
Villa Anelli is a private Inhabitable Work by Fausto Ferrara on Lake Garda, a residential commission of more than 2,200 sqm for a high-level private client.
The project does not treat the lake as a mere view, but as an active part of the architecture. Water, light, air and reflections enter into the construction of space, while the relationship between interior and exterior is articulated through thresholds, protected terraces and spatial sequences designed to preserve privacy, intimacy and a direct relationship with the landscape.

Sycamore Glen
Located in a wooded valley on the outskirts of Philadelphia, Sycamore Glen is a single-family home nestled among mature trees, overlooking Wister Creek. Bordered closely by neighboring houses to the west, the narrow site informed a linear organization and a careful balance of privacy, light, and views.

The house is structured around a series of parallel masonry walls that divide space, define rhythm, and extend beyond the envelope to articulate thresholds and terraces. A recessed entry, marked by a cantilevered overhang, leads to a quiet, compressed threshold before opening into a living and dining area that extends outward to a terrace surrounded by evergreen ferns.

“Raw Threshold” by Al Borde questions what it means to be local
In Sharjah, UAE, Quito-based architectural studio Al Borde crafted a pavilion using raw materials that is both a welcoming threshold and meeting point. The project, entitled “Raw Threshold”, was designed for the 2nd Sharjah Architecture Triennial whose theme, The Beauty of Impermanence: An Architecture of Adaptability, inspired a structure that questions what it means to be local. In a world governed by capitalism, where everything is readily available and accessible, local, historic neighborhoods are often impacted, losing their identity.
The new pavilion’s design works within the limitations of locally available natural resources and is based at the Al Qasimiyah School in Sharjah.

Future Simple Studio develops a serene sushi restaurant concept in Montreal
In Montreal, Future Simple Studio was approached to generate a new experience for the popular dining concept Sushibox. The studio’s redesign for the existing space, which includes a take-out area, dining room, and bar, features geometric shapes, elemental materials, and handcrafted details to create a uniquely serene environment with a slightly brutalist feel.
