The White House

The single-storey detached house with a two-car garage consists of two distinct volumes. The white blocks with a gable roof form a clear composition. They are the same height and width. The only difference is the length. The white building blocks take on the colour of wood at the openings. The terraces are a continuation of the opening from which they are derived. This gives the impression of a wall being cut out and placed in front of the resulting opening. Marcin Mularczyk Marcin Mularczyk "Form follows function" The maxim of the eminent American architect of the modernist era, Louis Henry Sullivan. In line with this maxim, Z3Z ARCHITEKCI's designs strive to be clear in form and free of superfluous elements. In this building,... More

Superserious

A 1950s villa transformed into a home studio for an architect couple and their daughter became an opportunity to experiment with complex spaces and to combine existing and new finishes and materials. The complete renovation of the house, along with the recovery of the attic, allowed for an unconventional spatial distribution, particularly in the living area, which is spread over two floors, and in the daughter’s room, which includes three levels that open up onto each other through mezzanines and double heights. Cube Building

In the early 20th century, large quarters in the central part of Dnipro were often developed with small residential houses and auxiliary structures. Forming a dense building perimeter that aligns with the scale of urban spaces in the historical center remains pertinent in 21st-century cities. Andrey Avdeenko The new cubic building integrates into the historical context with consideration for the further development of the quarter. Its height of 20 meters adheres to the modern height standards for buildings in the historical center. The solid end walls allow for potential future perimeter development along the street. Andrey Avdeenko The sidewalk along the building is designed for multifunctional use: comfortable passage, parking... More

Atelier d’artista

The project consists of the creation of a small artist's atelier inside the garden of a country villa. giorgio pasqualini The building, made with a structure in laminated fir wood and covered internally with marine pine plywood panels and externally with fir beads, opens to the north towards a small lake. The alveolar polycarbonate roofing of the veranda softens the light, making it ideal for painting. The internal structure divides the space into a painting area and a relaxation area with kitchen and access to the service. giorgio pasqualini Looking towards the garden, beams, pillars and frames of the building introduce a rhythm that seems to continue in the elements of the vegetation. Westmount Conservatory

An emblematic element of the identity of Westmount dating from 1927, the Palmhouse or Westmount Conservatory is one of the finest examples of Victorian greenhouse construction in North America. The restoration of this seriously deteriorated heritage structure was realized with a high level of craftmanship: structural elements, assemblies, building fabric, and details were all respectful of the original structure. The project also re-examines the plantation basins, integrating them within a new interpretation circuit. Caption The project is sensitive to the idea of addressing heritage, social, and economic issues in an integrated manner.  The project designers developed a long-term vision of a greenhouse that is at once a communit... Ex area San-Marco

The regeneration project revitalized a disused real estate complex, once central to the Bicycle Production District in Rossano Veneto. This site, tied to the economic boom of the 1960s, had fallen into decay until the Frattin Group acquired the area with the vision of transforming it into a modern Motor Hub. The project preserved the original architectural essence of the buildings, which featured typical mid-20th-century industrial structures, while removing incoherent additions and reorganizing the spaces through new main pathways that connect all areas of the complex. Madrona House

The Madrona House nestles into a historic Seattle hilltop neighborhood, looking east to Lake Washington and the Cascade Mountain Range beyond. Built for a downsizing couple that owned the historic craftsman house next door, the house was designed to maximize light and connection to the outdoors, with a strong sense of mass and materiality. Kevin Scott Kevin Scott Kevin Scott Kevin Scott Kevin Scott Kevin Scott Kevin Scott Kevin Scott The home was designed as a plinth with thick walls and hearth rising out of it, capped by a carved wooden volume. BUNS FROM HOME - SLOANE SQUARE

Buns from home Sloane Square is a new storefront located in London’s prestigious Chelsea. Its quasi-victorian elevation bridges the visual gap between the 1960s building in which it is located and the surrounding conservation area.  Jae Whan Kim With only 8m2 of interior space, this small retail unit in Sloane Square is a careful balancing act. The volume is efficiently organized and encapsulates the homely intimacy of the bakery’s story and values. Located in a conservation area, it is also sensible about its architectural language.   The play on traditional joinery profiles results in a contemporary take on the typical Victorian storefront. The sash-window opens the store up to the street and its pedestrians.... More
