1. What is your vision for the museum? MOTF is comprised of three main elements: the green hill, the museum, and the void. The green hill represents the earth, with its roots in place, time, and history. The inspiration for the landscaped hill was to elevate the building in an unobstructive way above the adjacent metro line and create greenery in elevation that is uncommon in Dubai where visitors can enjoy a park environment within the city context while engaging with the museum.  The torus shaped structure represents mankind’s ability to innovate and construct the limits of present-day engineering and construction methodology that has been represented in significant structures throughout the ages. The New Comédie is more than a theater, it is not only a place of theatrical performance, with its two halls, but also a place of creation, with its large construction workshops. The story to be told by Agemar is one of openness to the horizon, fluidity, continuities, whiteness, light-and-shadow composition. Athens on the other hand is dense, varied, contradictory. Agemar is not a corporate building. It is more of a ‘house’ for one of the biggest worldwide maritime group of companies, a rather big house, though. M9 is a museum of the cultural inheritance of the 20th century, located in a small museum quarter in Mestre, the mainland gateway to Venice. An agent of urban renewal, this educational institution and events venue provides a point of local identification and helps to redress the disparity of cultural wealth between Mestre and the tourist magnet across the lagoon.The M9 scheme consists of one larger and one smaller new building – for the museum and its offices, respectively – plus a former convent and an office building. MVRDV’s transformation of JUT Foundation’s new 240m2 lecture hall takes into consideration that although it is a functional space for talks and events, it is also a public installation due to the carpeted landscape that makes it more inviting, comfortable and attractive to users. So yes it a form of public architecture but one that takes a more unconventional design inspired by the natural landscape. The hall will be used by a variety of audiences and connected to the exhibition programme in the gallery of JUT Foundation located on the ground floor.
