Freedom in favor of colaborative work is the main concept from C6 Bank’s new headquarters. Global Architecture and Design Studio Perkins and Will conceived a modern, flexible and fun office inside an eight-story building with over 8.000m² in the heart of São Paulo.Developed simultaneously with the bank’s own concept, the project incorporates the company’s main values and culture, that include transparency, freedom and high spirits. “The creative process was interesting and defiant as it was actively conducted with the client”, says architect Fernando Vidal, Managing Director in Perkins and Will’s São Paulo studio. The legal headquarters and branch of the Bank of Pisa is placed in the historical center of the town, along the Lungarno Pacinotti street, next ‘Ponte di Mezzo’. The project touches rooms of the ground floor and the first one of an ancient building which has often been restored in the past. It measures about 650 sm. The ground floor (about 100 sm) holds the entrance hall, the tellers desks and the caveau. After the entrance the visitor meets a narrow deep room, which is double in height and crossed by two coloured bridges. A comfortable wood stair brings to the upper floor. The new CNB Corporate offices in Melville, New York, reflect the new image of banking today. Efficient, modern and most importantly, customer-oriented, the design results had to accomplish these tasks and more in this 8,200 SF facility. Although the reception area has a very corporate feeling, the conference center and corridor in view of the reception area to the back workspaces is very modern and creative, toning down the corporate entrance. We opened up all the conference rooms to this corridor so customers and employees were always part of the ongoing activities doing away with the image of closed-door banking. More
